About The Position

Lead a high-performing nursing unit where collaboration, evidence-based practice, and shared accountability drive exceptional patient outcomes. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (required).
  • Current RN licensure in the appropriate state (required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) per policy guidelines (required).
  • Appropriate professional certification—clinical or leadership—within 1 year of eligibility (required).

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • If undergraduate degree is not BSN: MSN is required (enroll within 1 year of hire/transfer and complete within 5 years).
  • If undergraduate degree is BSN: a Master’s in a health‑related field or an MBA is acceptable.
  • Previous management experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and actively support a Professional Practice model, collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to achieve high‑quality patient outcomes.
  • Ensure unit operations and teammates comply with the Nursing Practice Act, regulatory standards, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a core team member, upholding quality management, patient care, and departmental standards to meet unit and organizational goals.
  • Lead recruitment and retention efforts; oversee orientation, education, credentialing, and ongoing professional development through mutual goal setting and performance evaluation.
  • Delegate effectively and promote shared governance; encourage and nurture research that positively impacts clinical outcomes.
  • Deliver direct nursing care as needed, including assisting with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administering medications.
  • Provide patient and family education and evaluate its effectiveness.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to elevate nursing care quality, improve patient outcomes, and maintain a cost‑effective care environment.
  • Assist in developing policies, procedures, and standards that reflect evidence‑based practice.
  • Foster shared accountability for professional practice across the team.
  • Allocate resources to meet unit needs; maintain budgetary oversight and, with staff involvement, ensure the unit remains cost‑effective.
