About The Position

The Behavioral Health Integration Clinical Intake Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for patients seeking Mental Health Services for the Ryan Health Mental Health Department. The CIC manages all aspects of the intake assessment process and collaborates with supervisory staff to expedite triage and connection to mental health services. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Ryan Health.

Requirements

  • Must be knowledgeable and trained in some evidenced based practices.
  • Able to practice using multi-modalities, individual, group and/or relationship therapies.
  • Demonstrated track record of organization, focus and ability to work in a fast-paced clinic.
  • Working experience with electronic medical records software.
  • Able to use a computer for word processing and scheduling appointments in a calendar.
  • Experience treating individuals with mental illness and working with diverse patient populations.
  • Able to meet the demands of a busy clinic practice in both serving patients and documenting the work done in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to diagnose and assess the range of mental/behavioral health diagnoses
  • Able to complete comprehensive psychosocial assessments in a timely manner
  • Master's Degree from an accredited School of Social Work, Mental Health Counseling Program or Psychology
  • New York State licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Psychologist

Nice To Haves

  • Two years' experience in a behavioral health or integrated health care setting as a psychotherapist
  • eClinicalWorks or other electronic medical records software experience.

Responsibilities

  • Field all referrals for mental health services, including direct patient referrals, hospital referrals, internal referrals and referrals from outside agencies.
  • Conduct pre-admission screenings for all patients seeking services within the Mental Health Department.
  • Record and maintain referral log spreadsheet and monitor/report on data/outcomes.
  • Provide referrals to other service providers and community resources when deemed clinically necessary.
  • Assign cases to therapists as indicated based on assessing clinical compatibility and patient needs.
  • Collaborate with clerical support staff to ensure initial appointments with therapists and psychiatrists are expedited and to promote engagement in the treatment process.
  • Request/obtain medical/patient records from previous and/or referring facilities and/or schools or other collateral agencies.
  • Participate in regular department risk management meetings, supervisory meetings, staff meetings and in-service trainings as scheduled.
  • Provide clinical services for a small case load and run therapeutic groups.
  • Immediately report any incidents, issues or unusual occurrences to supervisor.
  • Other special projects/assignments as needed.
  • Flexible work hours depending on needs, including evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Flexibility to work at other sites within the network as required.
