About The Position

The Behavioral Health Case Manager is responsible for providing case management and care coordination services at Mount Juneau Counseling & Recovery. The Behavioral Health Case Manager is supervised by the Residential Program Manager, with clinical supervision provided by the GHS Clinical Manager. Additional clinical supervision may be provided by Master’s Level Clinicians and Behavioral Health Director.

Requirements

  • Excellent professional boundaries and positive regard and empathy for clients.
  • Excellent time management skills to balance multiple clients and tasks.
  • Knowledge of clinical case management duties and ability to follow best practice models.
  • Professional written and oral communication skills and timely completion of documentation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and applicable federal and state regulations regarding the treatment of substance use disorder.
  • Knowledge of community service providers and resources and ability to navigate access to these resources.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute of higher education in the field of counseling, psychology, or social work; OR:
  • At least two years’ experience working in the field of Substance Use Treatment or Mental Health Services as a case manager or peer support specialist.
  • Must complete the coursework and training to obtain State of Alaska Chemical Dependency Counselor Level I (CDC I) status within 3 years of start date.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to pass the Department of Corrections and Department of Health background checks.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and be insurable by current GHS auto insurance carrier.
  • Must pass a urinalysis test.

Responsibilities

  • Provides case management services for clients in all Mount Juneau Counseling & Recovery treatment programs based on identified needs and as directed in the clients’ individualized treatment plan.
  • Coordinate referrals and access to care and services to address identified needs and in collaboration with community partners, care providers, and other resources.
  • Facilitates life skills and psychoeducation group sessions utilizing evidence-based curricula and under the direction of the Chemical Dependency Counselor Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor, and Behavioral Health Director.
  • Track clients' adherence to treatment plans, including attendance at scheduled appointments and participation in program activities.
  • Enforce all program guidelines and standards as defined in the Recovery House Client Handbook or company policy and procedures.
  • Maintains clinical documentation that meets criteria as outlined by company policies and procedures, payer sources, and professional/ethical regulations. Ability to meet Medicaid documentation and reporting guidelines.
  • Pursues continuous professional development and attends regular clinical supervision sessions to develop the necessary competencies to obtain a Chemical Dependency Counselor-I level certification.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Residential Program Coordinator.
