About The Position

As a Behavioral Health Care Manager/Clinical Therapist at Pine Rest, you’ll be part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. Requirements

  • Current state licensure in an accredited Master’s level program in Social Work or Professional Counseling required.
  • Required licensures include: LMSW, LPC, LLMSW or LLPC
  • Obtain and maintain in good standing certification commensurate with treatment provided.
  • Trained to work in the age group of the patient being served with annual continuing age specific education and demonstrate competence.

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years of postgraduate clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as liaison between Behavioral Health services and Collaborating Primary Care/Specialty Physician offices external to Pine Rest.
  • Regularly meet with psychiatrist and/or other health care providers to present behavioral health information including formulation of problem, impression and recommendations utilizing summary of medical information, relevant psychiatric symptoms, behavioral observations, history, substance abuse information, and information obtained from collateral contact.
  • May include crisis management, intake and referral for placement of patients within the appropriate programs, case coordination with community referral sources, and utilization review for initial placement of patients.
  • May provide part-time outpatient clinical therapy services in an outpatient clinic within the organization.
  • Provides In-person services within the outpatient clinic or primary care office setting.
  • Participates in interviewing persons served and assessing them through mental status and reviewing records obtained from other patient care staff.
  • Selects and completes appropriate therapeutic interventions based upon clinical knowledge base and educational background (to include individual, group, family, experiential, and evidence-based models).
  • Collaborates with other treatment team members regarding patients’ progress through interdisciplinary team meetings, record review, and informal discussions.
  • Ensures that medical record documentation protocols are complied with.
  • Ensures that persons’ served progress notes are entered into the medical records on a timely basis and in accordance with established organizational and departmental procedures.
  • Participates regularly in departmental and staff meetings.
  • Serves on programs or organizational committees as required and as time and workload allow.
  • Maintains all Michigan licensure requirements.
  • Builds knowledge of current trends and developments in treatment and counseling through appropriate professional literature, medical workshops, and publications.
  • Fulfills continuing education requirements as per PRCMHS departmental policies.
  • Participates in education and training programs for persons served, families, or community groups.
  • May write behavior management plans for patients as part of consultation.
  • May be required to work some evening hours.
  • Provides training/supervision to interns as assigned.
  • May supervise staff at times.
