About The Position

The Behavioral Health Care Manager (BHCM) plays a crucial role in providing emotional support, crisis intervention, and counseling for patients with serious mental illness (SMI) and substance use disorders (SUD). This position involves working collaboratively within the ECM team to assist patients and their families in coping with various social and emotional challenges, conducting psychosocial assessments, and developing treatment plans. The BHCM is responsible for maintaining clinical records and ensuring comprehensive case management throughout the patient's stay.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or related field.
• Current licensure or registration as required by state regulations.
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain current certification.
• Minimum one year of inpatient or outpatient behavioral health experience.
• Experience working with a diverse population facing a wide range of problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support and crisis intervention for ECM patients across various age groups.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and assist in the development and re-evaluation of treatment plans.
• Work collaboratively as part of the ECM team to address the needs of patients with SMI and SUD.
• Complete necessary documentation and maintain clinical records for each client during their length of stay.
• Refer patients and families to financial assistance and supportive services related to treatment, illness, disability, or trauma.
