About The Position

The Behavioral Health Billing Specialist is a member of the finance team at Touchstone Mental Health and is responsible for submitting and resolving issues with insurance claims.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience performing medical billing and/or payment posting.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Credible, Availity clearinghouse, and MN MN-ITS portal preferred.
• Knowledge of provider credentialing, NPIs, and taxonomies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client records in the electronic health record system
• Submit, batch and post insurance claims
• Resolve issues when claims are rejected
• Request information from program staff related to the insurance claims
• Contact insurance companies, municipalities and state agencies to resolve authorization and payment issues
• Update leadership teams regarding claim status on a monthly basis
• Assist program staff with resolving issues that are listed on the batch error reports
• Maintain the Red X report and follow up on items in a timely manner
• Assist with the credentialing process of licensed staff members
