About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director this position is responsible for completing all client assessments in a timely manner and recommending clinically appropriate care based on the outcome of the assessment. Placement may be in a Native American Connections (NAC) program or with another agency who can provide the appropriate level of care.

Requirements

  • Fingerprint Certificates within 90 days of hire.
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, managers, supervisors, and vendors.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem- solving and organizational and time management skills.
  • Required strong clinical skills.
  • Knowledgeable about the economic, educational, and social challenges of Native Americans
  • Familiar with assessment tools that pertain to substance abuse, depression, and other behavioral health issues.
  • Familiar with the DSM (most recent revision) and diagnostic criteria.
  • Master’s degree in behavioral health field required (Tier I)
  • 2 years’ experience working in behavioral health or substance abuse preferred (Tier I)
  • Associate level licensure in a behavioral health field (LMSW, LAC, LAMFT, or LAAC) (Tier II)
  • 2 years’ experience working in behavioral health or substance abuse preferred (Tier II)
  • Independent licensure in a behavioral health field (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LIAC) (Tier III)
  • 2 years’ experience working in behavioral health or substance abuse preferred (Tier III)

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual- Spanish desired

Responsibilities

  • Complete all assessments and related documentation.
  • Recommends appropriate services for client based on assessment outcome.
  • Make Referrals to internal programs or to external providers as appropriate based on assessment.
  • Complete updated Assessment and ASAM as needed.
  • Complete Individual Service Plan in collaboration with client.
  • Assists with case management as needed.
  • Works closely with the admissions team to prioritize (i.e., Native American, pregnant, IV substance use, homeless, etc.) residential admissions.
  • Notify clients and referral sources of all documents and requirements for entering treatment prior to arrival
  • All documentation from assessments and/or client interactions will be completed and available in the electronic health record (EHR) within 24 hours.
  • Maintain positive working and referral relationships with T/RBHAs, Phoenix Area Indian Health Service offices and tribes, detox centers, Phoenix Indian Medical Center, medical facilities and other numerous referral agencies.
  • Assist with conducting group or individual counseling to clients as outlined in clinical curriculum as needed.
  • Support and actively engage in practices of inclusion through Cultural and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards.
  • Attends regular clinical supervision and oversight meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
