Requirements

  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
  • Communication: Oral and written

  • Minimum Degree Required: Associates Degree in Education, Criminal Justice, Mental Health or related field
  • Minimum Experience Required: At least 3-5 years in the development/implementation of behavioral support plans with individuals who have developmental disabilities and/or mental health concerns using Applied Behavior Analysis methodology.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and competences in Applied Behavioral Analysis
  • NYS Driver’s License
  • TCI Trainer (must obtain within 6 months from start date)

  • Preferred is a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, School Psychology or Mental Health Counseling

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support School Age Behavior Support Technician Team with collecting, organizing and maintaining data for Functional Behavioral Assessments/Behavioral Intervention Plans and school wide behavior management plan
  • Supervisor School Age Behavior Technicians
  • Maintain data for Behavior Intervention Plans per school wide plan
  • Train classroom team on Behavior Intervention Plan implementation and other necessary data collection
  • Provide behavioral consultation to school age teams about student behavior
  • Provide crisis intervention for students.
  • Leads TCI training approaches and best-practice behavior methods for all school age behavior technician staff. Will also support training new staff and recertifying current staff in TCI.
  • Assist with the completion of reports.
  • Create an environment that is comfortable for being open and honest about views, feelings, and opinions
  • Share knowledge about the organizations culture and operating standards
  • Make introductions to people who can assist in both short and long term goals of the new behavior technicians
  • Motivate and encourage during new challenges, changes, or difficulties
  • Ability to objectively assess situations and interactions, and offer suggestions for growth and ongoing feedback.
  • Conduct all duties, responsibilities, and daily activities in accordance with current best practice and ethical guidelines requirements.
  • Will act on behalf of Behavior Support Team Coordinator
  • Any other duty as requested by your Supervisor.
