PRIMARY FUNCTION: Train and assist school staff and students with behavior management skills and techniques
Requirements
Experience with students with behavior disorders (required).
Holds a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in counseling or in a human services related field.
Experience working directly with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Capability to nurture and build strong relationships with students.
Ability to build relationships with families to ensure student success.
Belief that children can make a significant contribution to the school, community, and the world.
Ability to improvise and work through uncertainties while assuming positive intent.
Experience working directly with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Familiarity with equity and inclusion frameworks.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present to diverse audiences to foster professional relationships and express and/or exchange ideas.

Proficiency in the use of a variety of office/instructional equipment and technology with experience using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and email.
Demonstrated leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and the community.
Nice To Haves
BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst), RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) training preferred, but not required.
Experience working with diverse learning needs and with children that may benefit from alternative learning models is preferred.
Responsibilities
Support, through coaching, classroom teachers and school staff with behavior management skills and techniques
Implement Individual Behavior Plans
Support students with appropriate behavior skills
Support teachers with implementation of behavior plans and classroom management
Attend FBA and BIP meetings as needed
Collect and analyze data related to students’ individual behavior goals
Collect and analyze related to teacher implementation and behavior plan effectiveness
Takes all industry standard precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintains appropriate state licensure; assumes responsibility for and participates in staff development (professional growth) and training to keep materials, supplies, and skills up-to-date.
Follows appropriate safety procedures and properly maintains equipment.
Actively participates in and attends all required meetings.
Maintains confidentiality when appropriate.
Complies with and supports school division policies, regulations, procedures, and the HCPS Strategic Plan.
Effectively performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
