About the position

KIPP SoCal Public Schools is a nonprofit organization that operates 23 tuition-free, open-enrollment charter public schools, within 20 Local Education Agencies (LEA), educating more than 10,000 students and supporting 6,800 alumni to and through college and beyond. Our Mental Health & Support Services Department works closely with the Special Education Department and consists of over 40 School Counselors, 14 School Psychologists, 5 Behavior Interventionists, and Mental Health Managers. The Behavior Services Manager oversees the Behavior Team, which consists of 7 Behavior Specialists, and acts as a behavioral expert and representative of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Behavior Team consisting of 7 Behavior Specialists.
  • Act as a behavioral expert and representative of the department.
  • Provide leadership and advocacy for behavior services.
  • Support the mission of KIPP SoCal by providing a holistic approach to learning.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure effective communication and implementation of behavior strategies.

Requirements

  • BCBA License, required
  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • Master's degree in Behavioral Sciences, ABA or related field, required
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience of school-based team members, required
  • PPSC (Pupil Personnel Services Credential) or Teaching Credential, preferred
  • Minimum 8 years post-Master's degree
  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred
