About The Position

The Behavior Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring a full range of behavioral services for students based on their individually assessed needs. This role provides clinical leadership within the Elizabeth Lee Black School and serves as the designated Mental Health Professional, ensuring behavioral supports are delivered ethically, effectively, and in compliance with applicable regulations and professional standards. The Behavior Services Coordinator partners closely with interdisciplinary teams, supervises mental health staff, and supports the development, oversight, and continuous improvement of behavioral programming while upholding students’ human and legal rights.

Requirements

To meet Mental Health Professional requirements, candidates must meet one of the following: A graduate degree from an accredited college or university (accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation) in a generally recognized clinical discipline, where the degree program included a clinical practicum; OR An equivalent graduate degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by an approved credential evaluation agency and deemed equivalent to a qualifying U.S. degree; OR Licensure in a recognized clinical discipline that includes mental health clinical experience.
Minimum of three years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or related populations.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with at least three years of certification.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional report writing.
Commitment to ethical practice in accordance with professional standards and applicable codes of ethics.

Nice To Haves

Advanced knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), learning theory, and positive behavioral support practices.
Experience designing, implementing, and monitoring behavioral programs in educational or clinical settings.
Ability to provide clinical leadership and supervision within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Ability to interpret behavioral and functional assessment data and communicate findings effectively to staff, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

Coordinating, developing, reviewing, and revising behavioral and psychological programs for students in the Children’s Partial Hospitalization Program.
Providing direct supervision and clinical oversight to Mental Health Workers within the program.
Participating in psychiatric clinics and interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
Serving as an active member of the Behavioral Review and Human Rights Committee and ensuring required approvals and informed consents are obtained.
Monitoring student progress through observations, documentation, and data analysis to ensure continuity and effectiveness of behavioral programming.
Serving as a member of IEP teams and consulting with educators, clinicians, and families regarding behavioral concerns and program outcomes.
Completing behavioral assessments, reassessments, and professional reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Training staff in applied behavior analysis techniques and behavioral program implementation.
Maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation, psychotropic medications, and best practices impacting behavioral services.
Participating in professional development, agency committees, and supervision of student interns as assigned.
