At Barber National Institute, we are making dreams come true by providing children and students with the behavioral health supports they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.The Behavioral Services Coordinator provides clinical leadership and oversight for high-quality, person‑centered behavioral health services across Children & Youth programs. This role leads the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of behavioral interventions, oversees the Children’s Mental Health Partial Hospitalization Program, and partners closely with educators, clinicians, families, and community providers. Through collaboration, supervision, and data‑informed decision‑making, the Behavioral Services Coordinator strengthens outcomes for students while fostering safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.

Requirements

  • Strong clinical expertise in behavioral health, including Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), behavior intervention planning, and crisis intervention
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in behavioral health, education, or clinical environments
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively to behavioral crises while prioritizing safety, dignity, and trauma‑informed care
  • Experience training, coaching, and developing staff using evidence‑based and trauma‑informed practices
  • Strong data analysis skills to monitor student progress and adjust interventions
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with interdisciplinary teams and families
  • High level of professionalism, ethical judgment, and confidentiality
  • Commitment to person‑centered care, continuous improvement, and mission‑driven service delivery
  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, rehabilitation, or a related clinical discipline with a clinical practicum
  • Minimum of three years of experience in behavioral health services supporting children or students
  • HWC and UKERU certification (required or obtained upon hire)
  • Valid driver’s license and compliance with driving eligibility requirements for role‑related travel
  • Ability to meet all regulatory and agency‑mandated clearances, including background checks, child abuse clearances, fingerprinting, TB testing, and physical examination
  • Physical ability to work in hybrid environments (classroom, office, clinical, and community settings) and respond to behavioral crises, including physical intervention consistent with training

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory or leadership experience (preferred)
  • Clinical licensure or licensure eligibility (e.g., LPC, LCSW, BCBA) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior intervention plans and Functional Behavioral Assessments
  • Providing direct behavioral support and crisis intervention when needed
  • Monitoring student progress through data analysis and adjusting interventions to improve outcomes
  • Ensuring timely, accurate documentation of behavioral services and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Leading and refining school‑wide behavior protocols and crisis response practices
  • Overseeing the Children’s Mental Health Partial Hospitalization Program and behavioral support services
  • Supervising, coaching, and evaluating behavioral staff to build a high‑performing, engaged team
  • Coordinating and delivering staff training on behavioral strategies, de‑escalation, and trauma‑informed care
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, administrators, families, and community partners to align behavioral, academic, and therapeutic goals
  • Participating in IEP meetings, mental health meetings, and interdisciplinary team discussions
  • Promoting strong family engagement through transparent communication and shared decision‑making
  • Partnering with internal administrative teams (HR, Compliance, IT, Finance, Communications) to support program quality, staffing, and operational alignment
