About The Position

Behavior Intervention Specialist for Behavior Treatment and Training Center (BTTC) Role Responsibilities Reports to the BTTC Senior Manager and works closely with Senior Manager, behavior analysts, QIDP, families, BTTC residential staff, and other residential team members. Duties of this position include but are not limited to the following: direct observation and recording of consumer behavior, assisting the behavior analyst in conducting assessments (e.g., preference, language, living skills, functions of problem behavior) and intensive treatment sessions, providing family/caregiver and staff training of behavior programs; ensuring that tangible rein forcers are purchased and available at the center as well as other needed supplies; assisting with skill development of the children served; creating and assembling program materials; daily data computer entry of targeted acquisition/reduction behaviors; attending appointments for individuals served as needed; and other duties as assigned. Some flexible work hours and work after hours may be necessary. Ensures that work is in compliance with Texana Center procedures and ICF-IDD Standards, is responsible and accountable for the adherence to and promotion of the compliance policy. Hours 8-5 M-F with some flexibility needed. Duties may change as program needs change. Must be physically able to perform Behavior management procedures and interventions, as well as running, sitting on the floor, squatting, and some lifting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ G.E.D.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license
  • Experience and ability to work with others and to work patiently and effectively with persons who exhibit challenging behaviors and ability to manage such behaviors at BTTC.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities who display aggressive and self-injurious behaviors.
  • Computer Skills

  • Previous BTTC experience.
