About The Position

Behavioral Intervention Specialist Salary Range: $65,728-$79,040/yr depending on relevant experience Please submit an updated resume so that we can pay you for your experience! Wildwood Programs is a provider of educational, residential, employment, and other community-based supports to people with disabilities and their families. We hire those dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives. We are looking for a Behavioral Intervention Specialist to work with individuals, and collaborate with support teams and the clinical supervisor to assess, and to develop behavior support plans for addressing behaviors that interfere with an individual's’ daily functioning.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college in a clinical and/or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology, or related human services field; or license in Mental Health Counseling.
  • Specialized training or experience in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Word processing, E-mail and database software, apple and Google suite programs.
  • A valid NYS driver's license and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage.
  • Daily access to an automobile and a willingness to transport program participants.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts behavioral assessments and writes behavior support plans in collaboration with the teams.
  • Reviews behavior support plans and relevant data regularly and makes changes as needed.
  • Provides ongoing in-service training to staff regarding concepts of behavior support including collection and analysis of behavioral data, as well as specific behavior support strategies (e.g., social stories, technology supports, positive behavior supports).
  • Acts as a primary resource to staff in understanding disabilities and positive behavioral support.
  • Models positive behavioral support in an integrated team environment.
  • Performs direct observation of individuals as part of the process of behavioral assessment and behavior support plan development.
  • Serves as an agency SCIP/PROMOTE certified trainer, as well as other trainings as needed.
  • Completes all mandated reporting requirements by Wildwood and regulating agencies, including but not limited to the following:
  • Attends Residential/ Day Hab meeting reviews as needed.
  • Incident reports as needed.
  • Documents related to behavioral support plans as needed.
  • Agency related documentation.
