We are hiring full-time, onsite Behavior Intervention Specialists in Anoka, MN for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. Position Overview Role: Behavior Intervention Specialist Location: Anoka, Minnesota Full-time (37.5 paid hours per work) Hours: Hours would vary slightly but 8:30-4:10 typically The BIS will work with an additional BIS and SpEd Administrator Support 4 Elementary Schools Consult and implement positive behavior interventions and supports for the students Conduct functional behavior assessments Support the development and implementation of IEPs in accordance with district practice and state and federal requirements Use flexible thinking and adaptability to address student needs and responds calmly during crisis situations, when necessary May be required to use restrictive procedures

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
Valid Minnesota teaching license in a Special Education field (Tier 3 or 4 required)
BCBAs will also be considered for this position
Background check and drug screening required
Experience teaching school-aged children with disabilities
Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

Responsibilities

Consult and implement positive behavior interventions and supports for the students

Use flexible thinking and adaptability to address student needs and responds calmly during crisis situations, when necessary
May be required to use restrictive procedures
