At Merakey, we put heart and soul into everything we do. We are seeking a fee for service Behavior Consultant to join our team in our Children's Services program in Lewistown, PA. Schedule: Fee for service; Flexible schedule based on caseload. Earn $30-$35/hour based on education, experience, and licensure. Position Details The Behavior Consultant collaborates with members of the treatment team to design, implement, and oversee individualized behavior intervention plans for children, adolescents, and their families. This role focuses on assessment, program development, and progress monitoring rather than direct therapy. The Behavior Consultant identifies behavioral goals, recommends non‑aversive intervention strategies, and provides consultation to Mobile Therapists and other team members as needed. The consultant also participates in team meetings and may support child‑centered, family‑focused discussions with outside systems such as schools to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Behavior Specialist in Pennsylvania.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential.
  • Graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 1 year full-time experience providing mental health direct services to children-21 years of age, AND a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling from an accredited college or university.
  • Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum AND a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a related field from an accredited college or university OR
  • If working with individuals with autism, must be licensed in PA as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, or certified registered nurse practitioner AS WELL AS one of the above.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee individualized behavior intervention plans, including goal setting and selection of evidence‑based, non‑aversive strategies.
  • Collaborate with Mobile Therapists and treatment team members, providing expert consultation and support throughout the treatment process.
  • Conduct behavioral assessments and monitor progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and family‑focused consultations, including school‑based or community meetings when behavioral guidance is required.
