About The Position
Behavior and Academic Coach Dedicated School Staffing is proud to support the Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West (ESCLEW). This organization provides special education resources and support to schools and students throughout Lucas County and the surrounding communities. The ESCLEW sees their work for these schools as vitally important to the growth and development, and ultimately the success of these students, and we join them in this view. We are seeking an Behavior and Academic Coach to support students within the Alternative Learning Center (ALC) in West Toledo. Under direction of the classroom teacher, the ALC Behavioral and Academic Coach provides primary support to the classroom teacher in reinforcing and monitoring the daily educational program and behavior plans for students with serious emotional disturbances, learning disabilities, and other varied disabilities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Ohio Department of Education Substitute Educational Aide Permit ($25), or higher license or ability to obtain license
- Certification in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) required and will be provided
Nice To Haves
- Associate Degree or higher preferred preferred (pay is contingent on education and experience)
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
- Experience with Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) preferred
