The Behavioral and Safety Nurse Navigator is a nursing position, with specific years of experience with high-risk populations of violence, behavioral concerns and psychiatric/addiction conditions. Responsible for responding to Randallia Hospital's Behavior Response Team overhead pages for situations where behaviors arise. Provides direct patient care to defined patient population and families based on the needs of the individuals according to areas of expertise to promote health and safety to improve workplace violence, improve patient experience and reduce staff and patient assaults. Performs screenings, assessments and interventions such as the Clinical Alcohol Withdrawal Assessment, Columbia Severity Screening Risk Scale, Physical Restraints, Medication Reconciliation and Administration. Responsible for providing expertise in the practice of nursing to produce quality outcomes, promote evidence-based practice and demonstrate cost-effective practices via collaboration with the patient, nursing personnel, physicians and all applicable stakeholders. Is responsible for the delivery of quality performance and service excellence with each patient encounter; and adheres to the Parkview Standards of Behavior.
