About The Position

Beamline Welding Machine Operator sets up, programs, runs, and maintains automated welding robots, focusing on loading/unloading beams, reading blueprints, monitoring weld quality with gauges, performing basic maintenance, troubleshooting errors, and ensuring safety to produce consistent, high-quality beam components on the welding robotic cell, requiring basic MIG/TIG skills and strong attention to detail. Knowledge of the operation of machines Capable of running Welding robots: handling, positioning robots, modifying welding positioning with supervisor permission Knowledge of TCP Torch Control Utilize the spare parts for small interventions on robots, contact tip, gas nozzle, gas distributors Perform quality checks tape measure, bench and measuring station, automatic weld control camera and hook control camera

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED; vocational training a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience with stamping and Roll forming presses and manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings, strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of measuring tools.
  • Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, good problem-solving, teamwork, physical stamina (lifting, standing )
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical understanding of automated systems.
  • Basic manual welding skills (MIG/TIG) often required, certificates is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting.
  • Physical ability to lift and move parts.

Responsibilities

  • Load/unload parts, position workpieces using jigs/fixtures, and initiate the robotic welding process
  • Input and adjust parameters (power, speed, pattern) for the robot controller based on engineering specs
  • Visually inspect welds, use measuring tools (gauges, calipers), and remove spatter to ensure parts meet specifications
  • Perform routine upkeep like cleaning nozzles, changing wire/tips, lubricating, and reporting malfunctions
  • Identify and resolve errors or system malfunctions during production runs
  • Complete production logs, downtime reports, and quality records
  • Follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean work area, and wear required PPE
