About The Position

Omitron is seeking a Battlespace Awareness Operator to support 24x7 space operations at a government customer site in Springfield, Virginia. This position delivers real-time mission status updates, conducts anomaly investigations, and provides senior decision-makers with actionable decision support and Course of Action (COA) recommendations. The selected candidate will execute established Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), maintain battlespace awareness, and ensure operational continuity in a dynamic, high-tempo operations center environment. This role requires strong space operations experience, adaptability, and the ability to perform effectively in a rotating shift environment. This position will require a pre-test, training, certification post-test, on-console evaluation, and certification board to be completed within 60 days. This position is contingent on award

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required
  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum four (4) years of prior relevant experience; OR Graduate Degree and minimum two (2) years of prior related experience; OR In lieu of a degree, minimum eight (8) years of prior related experience
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of Space Operations experience
  • Familiarity with orbital mechanics principles
  • At least one year of experience with astrodynamics tools such as STK, GMAT, and/or ODTK
  • Experience operating in a real-time or mission operations environment
  • Certifications: Must successfully complete program certification requirements within 60 days

Nice To Haves

  • Education: Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Astrodynamics, Physics, Space Operations, or related technical field
  • Experience: Experience supporting national-level or enterprise space operations missions
  • Experience working in a 24/7 crew-based operational environment
  • Certifications: Relevant space operations or astrodynamics coursework or training

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a crew member supporting 24/7 operations in a 12-hour rotating shift environment (days/nights), with schedules coordinated alongside team leads and program management
  • Perform full-time, on-site mission operations at a government customer facility in Springfield, VA
  • Maintain situational awareness of space domain threats and monitor high-interest events impacting mission assets
  • Deliver real-time mission updates and conduct anomaly investigations in support of operational continuity
  • Operate analytical and astrodynamics tools including Systems Tool Kit (STK), as well as other commercial and government-developed software
  • Develop and execute Courses of Action (COAs) and support Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for mission decision-making
  • Accurately log daily shift activities, significant events, and operational anomalies in accordance with program procedures
  • Prepare and deliver mission briefings and analytical products to senior leadership and enterprise stakeholders
  • Assist in the integration and operationalization of new tools, capabilities, or system enhancements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of evolving mission requirements
