Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Gibson County TIY Youth Basketball League basketball program, to ensure the excellent and consistent service of quality programming, as well as the training and leadership of basketball personnel, while supporting the full operations of the sports department (business, sports and ministry) in order to assist with the growth and further development of the basketball division of operations. This position will report directly to the Sports Director and serve as the main point of contact for member/non-member participants in the basketball program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Follow employee and volunteer screening requirements and use screening instruments to screen for abuse risk. Provide employees & volunteers with on-going supervision and training related to abuse risk. Provide employees and volunteers with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with youth. Require employees and volunteers to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse risk. Respond quickly to policy and procedure violations using the organization’s progressive disciplinary procedures. Respond seriously and confidentially to reports of suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Follow mandated reporting requirements. Communicate to all employees and volunteers the organization’s commitment to protect their youth from abuse Oversee all the details of basketball clinics, camps and special events to include marketing, schedules, staff scheduling, gym scheduling, equipment and program t-shirt or giveaways. Additionally, work with the Senior Sports Program Director to groom current programs while also working to develop additional programs designed to strengthen program participation. Coordinate logistics for events, which includes: paperwork, staff scheduling, reserving location days and times, meetings, equipment, resources, etc. Weekly admin time to include phone calls to participants, program flyer copies and placement in the facility, staff meetings and training, data input, facility maintenance and equipment maintenance (courts, balls, goals, rims, nets, walls, other equipment, benches, training gear, etc). Updates information in the front desk sports binder to keep front desk staff up-to-date with program information. Network with schools, coaches, child cares, day cares and preschools through handouts and discounts to increase program participation.
