About The Position

The Durham Bulls Grounds Crew plays a vital role in ensuring both the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP) and the Durham Athletic Park (DAP) are maintained to professional standards. This team member focused position supports all field operations and contributes to creating a safe, clean, and professional playing environment for players and coaches. Candidates must be reliable, collaborative, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Ability to take instruction, ask questions when needed, and follow established procedures
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with teammates, supervisors, and guests
Comfortable working independently and staying focused on tasks without direct supervision
Physically able to perform hands-on, outdoor work in varying weather conditions

Nice To Haves

Prior grounds crew experience preferred

Responsibilities

Set up and break down batting practice equipment
Prepare game fields, including dragging, watering, and maintaining the infield before and during games
Sweep and water pitcher’s mounds and home plate areas; clean and wash bases
Assist with placing, covering, and removing the field tarp as weather conditions require
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces, equipment, and tools
Perform in-game field maintenance and complete quick repairs or adjustments as needed
Support additional field maintenance projects as directed
Work cooperatively with fellow grounds crew members and other Durham Bulls team members
