About The Position

Base IT Operations Lead The Opportunity: We are seeking a Base IT Operation Lead to serve as a Project Manager in support of an Air Force program. This is a unique opportunity to lead critical on-site efforts, including coordinating personnel, overseeing logistics, and driving network modernization efforts at multiple Air Force installations across CONUS. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, maintaining schedules, and delivering high-quality outcomes vital for mission success. As the on-site project lead, you’ll coordinate site surveys, equipment staging, and installation, testing, and logistical operations while addressing any operational challenges. You’ll also ensure compliance with installation safety standards, oversee subcontractor performance, and manage reporting and communication with stakeholders. This is an essential role for driving operational efficiency and ensuring seamless modernization and maintenance operations across Air Force installations. What You'll Work On: Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for Air Force installation site projects, responsible for schedules and personnel management. Coordinate resources across sites, optimizing survey teams and ensuring efficient project execution. Oversee operations and maintenance, logistical coordination, and reporting in collaboration with Booz Allen, subcontractors, and customer teams. Maintain program IT modernization site schedules (IMS), deliver required contract deliverables (CDRLs), and process documentation for site visits and progress reporting. Organize equipment staging, integration, cutover, and testing activities in alignment with project documents such as PWS, SOR, and SPRIP. Enforce Quality Assurance and Safety compliance directives, ensuring all contract specifications are met, whether explicitly or implicitly stated. Manage scheduling and supervision for on-site implementation of networking and data center activities, ensuring performance alignment to project goals. Oversee post-survey verifications and document all site modifications impacting installation design. Monitor progress, address workmanship issues, and escalate challenges to the Program Manager while ensuring transparency with stakeholders. Requirements

  • Experience managing Air Force Base Area Networks and large-scale modernization programs
  • Experience using MS Office tools such as MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience with DoW project management in large, complex networks, or 10+ years of experience with DoW project management in large, complex networks in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DoW frameworks and installation-specific requirements such as PWS and safety standards
  • Experience managing subcontractor teams and supporting modernization initiatives across large networks
  • Knowledge of network operations and maintenance, including monitoring and troubleshooting complex systems
  • Ability to coordinate across stakeholders and maintain smooth operations during project execution
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
