Overview The Sales Engineer serves as a technical expert and trusted advisor, supporting the Vice President in driving sales growth across Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), lighting control, solar, and energy efficiency projects. This role bridges the gap between technical solutions and customer needs, providing in-depth product knowledge, customized system design support, and persuasive sales presentations. The Sales Engineer works closely with customers, internal sales teams, project managers, and operations staff to ensure solutions meet performance, budget, and sustainability goals. Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities - Level 2 Collaborate with sales teams to identify client needs and recommend appropriate BMS, BAS, lighting control, solar, and energy solutions. Develop detailed system designs, schematics, and equipment selections in coordination with engineering and operations teams. Develop bills of material, pricing, control intent, scopes of work, and customer-facing proposal documents. Collaborate with project delivery teams and customer support teams to ensure smooth handoffs from sales to implementation. Provide technical support during the sales cycle, including answering client questions and addressing technical concerns. Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations and proposals tailored to client requirements. Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and manufacturer offerings related to BMS, BAS, lighting control, solar, and energy efficiency. Actively engage in Research and Development efforts to find new solutions to solve customer problems, to upgrade current solutions and offerings, making them more efficient, scalable, serviceable and/or profitable. Perform site visits and surveys to gather technical data and validate design feasibility.
