About The Position

Apex Entertainment is looking for talented, outgoing Bartenders to join their team in Virginia Beach. The ideal candidate is passionate about mixology, thrives in a high-energy environment, and enjoys making people smile. The role involves crafting a variety of cocktails, beers, and beverages with speed and accuracy, providing knowledgeable recommendations, and ensuring responsible alcohol service. Bartenders are expected to deliver an exceptional guest experience by creating a fun, welcoming environment, engaging with patrons, and handling inquiries professionally. The position also requires maintaining a clean and stocked bar area, performing opening and closing duties, ensuring health and safety standards, and assisting other staff as needed. Flexibility to work special events and take on assigned tasks by management is also part of the role. The company values fun and service.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
2+ years of bartending experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant
TIPS certification (or willingness to obtain)
Solid cash handling experience
Comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for long periods
Availability to work flexible hours - nights & weekends
Ability to multitask and remain cool under pressure

Nice To Haves

Event bartending experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Mix a variety of cocktails, beers, and beverages with speed, skill, and accuracy
Follow established recipes while adding your own flair when appropriate
Provide knowledgeable recommendations on drinks, spirits, and pairings
Ensure responsible alcohol service by checking IDs and monitoring guest consumption
Create a fun, welcoming environment where every guest feels like a regular
Share your knowledge of our menu and drink offerings
Handle guest inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm
Engage with patrons to make their visit memorable - every time
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area
Perform opening and closing duties, including restocking and inventory checks
Ensure all health and safety standards are met
Help out wherever needed - from answering phones to assisting servers
Be tuned in to what's happening around the facility to anticipate guest needs
Step into special events, private parties, or corporate gatherings as needed
Be ready to take on any tasks assigned by management to support the team
Communicate clearly with fellow staff and leadership
Maintain a positive, can-do attitude in a fast-paced setting
Support your teammates to ensure smooth service throughout every shift
