About The Position

JOB FUNCTION: This position reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director and will be responsible for serving food and beverages in the tavern, on-course and at special events. Bartenders will be expected to be pleasant, professional, and courteous at all times. This position requires multi-tasking and much of the time bartenders are required to work quickly and accurately. Must be dependable, punctual, honest, able to work with minimal supervision, flexible, and able to carry tasks through to completion. Bartenders are the important link between the kitchen and the membership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) to five (5) years experience required.
  • Maryland TAM License
  • Food Service Sanitation Management Certification
  • The individual must have exceptional guest service skills, be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral communication skills required.
  • Must be dependable with the ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must have the ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, professional manner.
  • Must be able to operate a point of sale system.
  • Must be able to write and translate numbers clearly and accurately and read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and guests.
  • Take food and beverage orders.
  • Create cocktails and beverages following recipes and exact measurements.
  • Serve food and beverages.
  • Enter food and beverage orders into the point of sale system.
  • Bus tables when needed.
  • Set tables when needed.
  • Perform assigned side-work and continual duties as scheduled.
  • Maintaining bar, kitchen and Dining Room as a clean, inviting, and safe work environment and letting management know of any issues to the contrary.
  • Letting management know of any needs for supplies that may need to be ordered
  • Responsible for keeping floors swept, mopped and dry, and carpets cleaned and vacuumed.
  • Following all OSHA guidelines for a safe workplace.
  • Serve at special functions.
  • Assist F&B Manager with staging special events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
