About The Position

New Riff is seeking an energetic, engaging, and passionate team member to join their Front of House (FOH) team as a bartender/ambassador for the Aquifer Tasting Room. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to guest satisfaction, value teamwork, and possess an insatiable curiosity, along with an excellent work ethic and a captivating personality. New Riff Distilling, founded in 2014, is an independently owned Kentucky Bourbon Distillery located in Newport, KY, on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. They focus on Bourbon and Rye Whiskey and offer a robust single-barrel program, with the distillery open for tours, tastings, experiences, and shopping. Requirements

  • Must be 21 and up to apply
  • Attention to detail - from food and beverage standards to cost, safety, facility cleanliness, and customer experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to stay focused under pressure.
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Experience with cocktail creation, general knowledge of spirits, and a keen interest in continuing to learn and evolve

Nice To Haves

  • Previous bartending experience, with a strong preference for those experienced in craft cocktails and/or bourbon-focused settings.

Responsibilities

  • Operating under a hospitality-first mindset, create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive experience for all guests and teammates
  • Commitment to showing up for our guests and for each other by being punctual, reliable, communicative, and present
  • Standard operating procedures of opening and closing duties to set and reset the stage for service
  • Prep for cocktails
  • Dedication to becoming a subject matter expert on everything New Riff - our products and the industry as a whole.
  • Prepare, serve, and engage with guests about our Whiskey Library, flights, and handcrafted cocktails
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and enjoyable visitor experience.
  • Handle transactions in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
  • Adhere to all responsible beverage service guidelines and laws.
  • Assist with inventory management, restocking, and communicating ordering supplies as needed.
  • Participate in distillery events, tours, and tastings as required.
  • Communication with Bar Supervisor and Hospitality Manager on needs, issues, and wins
  • Must be available to work at least two shifts per week.
