About The Position

Located on the Island’s west end, just a short drive from the main gate, sits the highly-anticipated Cape Club featuring an oceanfront infinity pool with chaise lounges and cabanas, an expansive sundeck overlooking the Atlantic, beach service, and a Latin-inspired restaurant led by Kiawah Island Club Chef Nico Quintero and James Beard Award winner and Club Culinary Advisor Chef Mike Lata. The restaurant will also offer food and beverage service poolside and by the beach, providing Members with the opportunity for al fresco daytime dining throughout the year. The menu reflects an elevated take on traditional Central and South American flavors and preparation with an emphasis on fresh, local seafood and great cocktails and mixed drinks. The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages to members and guests in a refined, club-oriented atmosphere. This role provides friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable service while maintaining a clean, well-stocked bar and upholding Kiawah Island Club’s standards of hospitality, professionalism, and responsible alcohol service. This is a full time position with typical hours from 10am-7PM including holidays and weekends.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year bartending experience in a casual, high-volume atmosphere preferred
  • Knowledge of classic cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
  • Creativity and interest in experimenting with new cocktails and mocktails to support and enhance the Club’s beverage program
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Understanding of responsible alcohol service; certification preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in hot/humid conditions
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification is required for this position. Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Candidates must be able to lift 25 lbs and be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
