About The Position

This job description for the Bartender/Server at Crossing Creeks Country Club provides criteria for the evaluation of the Bartender/Server position. The Bartender/Server at Crossing Creeks Country Club is responsible for working directly with customers by greeting, learning about their preferences, answering questions, recommending menu items, and preparing and serving beverages and food. The Bartender/Server will strive to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for customers while maintaining the inventory, cleanliness, and ensuring compliance regulations are met.

  • Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
  • Computer literacy
  • Maintain TABC/food handling license requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
  • TABC / Food Handling license required
  • Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol
  • Previous proven working experience as a Bartender/Server

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a high level of top-notch customer service and professionalism to a wide range of diverse customers
  • Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking beverage and food orders
  • Assisting and planning menus and informing customers about new specials
  • Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
  • Verifying identification and age requirements of customers
  • Understanding of unique and complementary flavor pairings
  • Knowing how to make traditional and classy drinks.
  • Handling credit and debit card transactions, membership account charges, and ensuring charges are accurate.
  • Recording and maintaining orders throughout shift
  • Building a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere
  • Checking in with customers to ensure satisfaction with beverages and/or food orders
  • Serving customers in a prompt, courteous manner
  • Having a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items on the menu and the ability to recommend food & beverage combinations, offer customers daily specials, as well as upsell alternatives
  • Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, plasticwares, chinaware, glassware, etc., throughout the day
  • Ensuring that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times
  • Accountability in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bars and other areas are well-stocked
  • Restocking inventory as needed
  • Managing the overall restaurant operation
  • Exhibiting pleasant and cheerful demeanor and maintaining a helpful attitude towards all customers, visitors and staff
  • Complying with federal, state and local regulations and department processes and procedures
  • Having and ensuring a good relationship between the other departments to ensure effective communication
  • Showing leadership and direction with co-workers and other staff members
  • Communicating appropriately with members, guests and co-workers
  • Greeting all members and guests in a warm and welcoming manner
  • Adhering to and ensuring compliance with Crossing Creeks Country Club policies, procedures and customer service standards
  • Participating in maintaining a safe, clean and organized environment
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Have knowledge and able to operate Simulator Machines, and assist Members/Customers if needed
