About The Position

Lakeview Village has great jobs available for catering event staff! Catering Event Staff are responsible for maintaining a high quality of service and hospitality for Lakeview Village residents and their guests by providing exceptional service at all assigned catering events. Contributes to residents' quality of life by providing superior meals, optimal choices, and caring services. Job Details: Properly sets up and decorates all catering events, performing duties including, but not limited to: table, chair, décor & equipment setup and removal; interpreting event orders in order to meet client needs; and utilizing linens, china, glassware, silverware and small wares for various types of events. Provides excellent service and hospitality at all scheduled catering events including, but not limited to: ensuring guest satisfaction during the event; communicating catering information to fellow staff and guests; and anticipating and accommodating any guest needs. Demonstrates a working knowledge of all catering and beverage menu items well enough to answer questions for residents and/or guests. Demonstrates a working knowledge of all possible hazardous conditions or equipment, reports any problems in a timely manner. Responsibly serves alcoholic beverages according to established procedures in the State of Kansas and at Lakeview Village. Ensures that assigned catering event areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly manner for efficiency, sanitation, and guest comfort. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Must have a current and valid Driver's License
  • One year of catering, restaurant, or banquet experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age as required by the Kansas Alcohol Beverage Control so that alcohol-related duties can be performed.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the use of catering and bartending equipment including, but not limited to: chafing dishes, warmers, glassware, and portable bars.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills.
  • Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.
  • Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job: Maximum frequent lift of 15 lbs. from 30-52 inches; maximum occasional lift of 36 lbs. from floor to 72 inches; Maximum frequent carry of 15 lbs. at self-selected height for 75 ft.; maximum occasional carry of 36 lbs. at self-selected height for 75ft; Maximum occasional vertical pull of 30 lbs. from 36 to 72 inch height; maximum occasional horizontal push/pull of 40 lbs. at for 50 ft.; Constant grip force of 10 lbs.; frequent pinch force of 5 lbs.; occasional climb of 8 inches; Maximum frequent forward reach (self-selected unilateral or bilateral) of 40 inches; maximum frequent lateral reach of 24 inches; Constant bend/crouch; frequent neck flexion; frequent fine motor coordination; frequent hand coordination; constant balance; constant stand; constant walking.
