Barnard College seeks a full-time (early-career) Faculty Fellow to join the rich community of research, teaching, and praxis centered in the Department of Chemistry. This is a two-year residential research and teaching fellowship welcoming of early-career scholars from a broad range of social backgrounds, including those under-represented in academia. The fellowship is designed to help expand the breadth of scholars hired into tenure-track positions by providing valuable experience, skills, and mentorship. Faculty Fellows teach two undergraduate courses each year relevant to their scholarly interests and experience, conduct research and scholarship, and receive professional development support from the department, Barnard College, and Columbia University. The Department of Chemistry at Barnard College s eeks a full-time (early-career) Faculty Fellow specializing all areas of computational chemistry. Faculty Fellow program is a two-year residential fellowship welcoming of early-career scholars from a broad range of social backgrounds, including those under-represented in academia. This complement of extraordinary early-career scholars will play an active role in a vibrant scholarly community and fully participate in the life of their academic home(s) at the college. The fellowship is designed to help expand the breadth of scholars who are hired into tenure-track positions by providing them with the experience, skills, and accomplishments necessary to succeed in the highly competitive application process. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to both teaching undergraduates and developing their own research program. We are interested in candidates with a commitment to mentoring and supporting students from underrepresented groups. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of post-doctoral research experience, but recent Ph.D. recipients with well-developed research plans are welcome to apply. Faculty Fellows teach two undergraduate courses (or their equivalent) relevant to their scholarly interests and experience, conduct research and scholarship, and receive mentoring and professional development support from the Department of Chemistry, Barnard college, and Columbia University. Teaching responsibilities will be determined based on candidates’ interest and experience. This is a two-year position beginning on July 1, 2026, with teaching responsibilities during the standard academic year from September to May.
