About The Position

In a hospital setting, a barista plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall guest and employee experience by providing a comforting and familiar environment through the creation of quality coffee beverages. The presence of a skilled barista in a hospital adds a touch of warmth and care, positively impacting the overall atmosphere and fostering a sense of community within the medical facility.

Requirements

  • ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

  • Operates cash register with an accuracy of 99.85% (plus or minus).
  • Sets up appropriate cashier bank.
  • Documents cash received and charges made.
  • Identifies customer needs and refers to appropriate department for follow-up when necessary.
  • Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions.
  • Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
  • Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies etc. for coffee bar.
  • Stocking refrigerators with beverages, condiments etc.
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, polishing general work areas, this includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and throwing trash.
  • Prepare and gather items needed for meal service.
  • Provides exceptional service to all guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
