About The Position

Responsible for preparing meals to order, catering and batch cooking for patients, visitors and staff. Principal Accountabilities Standards of Performance: Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration, Stewardship, Accountability, Quality Education High School diploma or equivalent preferred Licenses and Certification Within 30 days of hire: Food Service Managers Certification (SJMH only) Food Service Handlers Certification (MHC, HH, HMC, Cancer Institute) Food Allergens Certification Experience and Skills Technical Experience: 6 months, preferred Physical Activities Intermittent hand manipulation required Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 pounds Required to stand for periods of up to 4 hours Role Specific Responsibilities Maintains clean work area following all safety and sanitation guidelines Enters and reports cash transactions. Adjusts meals to meet the needs of the patient while following doctor’s orders Keeps all work areas adequately stocked with food, condiments, beverages and service ware. Washes dishes and utensils following Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines in all actions. Delivers and retrieves trays using required patient identifiers in all interactions. Attractively and accurately assembles patient trays. Follows established portion control guidelines when serving food and beverages Responsible for service to retail operations. Prepares meals using approved food sanitation practices Sweeps and mops floors using approved methods. Requirements
