About The Position

Weis Markets is seeking a Barista who is passionate about teamwork and the growth of its associates and communities. The Barista is responsible for creating personalized experiences for customers by demonstrating knowledge of coffee, products, and offers. This role involves actively recognizing, including, appreciating, supporting, and delighting customers and fellow baristas. Key aspects include developing expertise in the craft, diligently maintaining equipment and the store environment, crafting and serving high-quality products, and ensuring food and merchandise are visually appealing and properly stocked. The Barista will also contribute to team success, follow established policies and guidelines, communicate important information to store leaders, and may operate cash registers, handle money, and maintain general sanitation in the department. Training will be provided for tasks such as baling cardboard and operating power or hand jacks for deliveries. Requirements

• Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Ability to read simple verbal or written instructions.
• Ability to write short memos/messages.
• Able to communicate information effectively one on one, and in small groups (customers and co-workers).
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
• Able to perform these operations using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- and two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Minimum eighteen (18) years of age.
• Ability to pass drug test.

• Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
• Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency.

• Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements.
• Disposes of trash properly.
• May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (if properly trained – training provided).
• May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of a power jack or hand jack (if properly trained – training provided).
• Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE).
• May also be called upon to assist in other departments.
