About The Position

The Barista role involves comprehensive opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies, cleaning equipment and areas, and securing the premises. Key responsibilities include stocking and maintaining work areas, accurately inputting customer orders into a cash register and MICROS system, collecting payments, and preparing food and coffee beverages. The position also requires ensuring appliances are operated correctly, busing and cleaning coffee cart areas, tables, dishes, and utensils throughout the day. Financial tasks include managing change, counting the cash bank at the end of a shift, completing cashier reports, resolving discrepancies, and securing the bank. Beyond operational duties, the Barista must adhere to all company and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, maintain a professional appearance, and protect company assets. A crucial aspect of the role is delivering exceptional guest service by welcoming and acknowledging all guests, anticipating their needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation. Responsibilities

  • Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc.
  • Set up, stock, and maintain work areas.
  • Input orders into cash register system and collect payment from customer.
  • Take orders, record in MICROS system and prepare food and coffee beverages.
  • Ensure that appliances (e.g., coffee makers) are turned on/off at the appropriate times.
  • Bus coffee cart areas and tables.
  • Clean dishes, utensils, work areas, tables and equipment throughout the day.
  • Obtain change required for expected business level.
  • Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
