About The Position

Are you a coffee enthusiast with a love for creating the perfect cup? How about delicious breakfast and lunch sandwiches? Join our vibrant team and bring your passion for coffee and food to life! We are looking for a hard-working and talented Barista to join our team of hospitality professionals at Cocoon Coffee House and Bakery. The Barista serves food and drinks following established guidelines, procedures, and policies for food and beverage safety controls as prescribed by company standards. He or she interacts with guests and staff in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner and rings guest checks, collects cash, and processes credit charges following company policies and procedures. The Barista educates customers about our entire selection of premium coffees, teas, and menu items and develops a rapport with our customers by making an effort to learn their names, favorite drinks, and food items. In addition, the Barista helps with general stocking and cleaning. The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma, at least one year of experience in food service or restaurant setting, and can work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Experience in coffee making or food service (preferred but not required)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Point-of-sale (cash register) and credit or debit card processing skills
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Able to work daytime hours, weekends and holidays, with some evening hours
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma
• at least one year of experience in food service or restaurant setting

Nice To Haves

• Experience in coffee making or food service (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

• Craft delicious coffee, espresso-based drinks and specialty coffees and teas
• Prepare and serve tasty breakfast and lunch Items
• Engage with customers and provide top-notch service
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Operate the point-of-sale system and other required software, accept responsibility and accountability for the cash drawer
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
