Summary: The barista is responsible for greeting, selling/order taking, preparing beverages and serving guests in safe and efficient compliance with policies and procedures, brand standards, and federal, state and local regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or related experience
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry
  • Understand and provide friendly guest service
  • Understand proper ordering, beverage preparation, and food handling techniques
  • Follow policies and procedures
  • Detail oriented
  • Professional attitude and behavior with effective listening and communication skills
  • Work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Must be available to work Saturday and Sunday (additional weekday shifts may be assigned).
  • Process guest checks and collect payments in compliance with cash handling, credit card transactions, room charge processing and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Promptly reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management and report any deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards and regulations to management
  • Comply with all guest service basics such as uniforms, name tags and proper guest greeting
  • Be knowledgeable on hotel facilities and services to assist guests
  • Impress guests with quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner
  • Take guest orders promptly
  • Prompt preparation of beverages in accordance with prescribed procedures
  • Delivery beverages/food to guests
  • Report all tips in compliance with company policy and IRS regulations
  • Clean equipment and areas
  • Restock service items
  • Attend department meetings as scheduled
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
