About The Position

This position involves adhering to all company protocols for both bar and front-of-house operations, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and upholding company standards for merchandising, inventory, and product rotation. Key responsibilities include preparing and serving beverages according to quality and recipe standards, completing required training modules and tastings to enhance product knowledge, and educating both customers and staff on all product offerings. The role also requires assisting in the training and development of new staff members, demonstrating a continuous pursuit of industry trends, and ensuring a warm, sincere, and friendly customer experience, including greeting, thanking, and engaging customers about their preferences and other product offerings.

Requirements

  • Completion of required Local Coffee barista training modules.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a pleasant disposition and sense of urgency with helping customers.
  • Demonstrate a passion for coffee.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well on a team while remaining flexible enough to work with minimal guidance.
  • Clear communication skills, and able to take direction.
  • Strong espresso bar, and coffee preparation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 to 2 years food service industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company protocol behind the bar and at front of house, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Uphold company standards regarding merchandising, inventory and rotation of store products.
  • Prepare and serve beverages that adhere to company’s quality standards, ensuring that they reflect company recipe and presentation standards.
  • Complete required training modules; Baristas are required to complete additional training modules, as well as participate in tasting to further product knowledge.
  • Educate customers and staff on all products offered.
  • Assist in the training and development of new staff members.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing pursuit of education, training and industry trends.
  • Ensure customers are warmly received and welcomed; engage the customers in a sincere and friendly manner, including greeting customers with a smile, thanking them for their patronage, and preparing drinks in an expedient manner.
  • Respond to questions, orders, and concerns with patience, confidence, and professionalism.
  • Engage customers about their drink preferences and tailor suggestions accordingly.
  • Facilitate easy dialogue with customers regarding other product offerings, including whole bean coffee, tea, food offerings, merchandise, as well as any current promotions.
