About The Position

The Barista-Café Manager (BCM) at Silt Coffee Co is responsible for managing daily activities, supervising staff, building a catering program, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving profitability. The BCM is responsible for creating an environment that welcomes new and existing customers to keep coming back for coffees, teas, and light fare. The BCM ensures Silt Coffee Co stays clean, inside and outside and maintains the highest quality specialty drinks and food, along with friendly and professional service.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree in food services or business, preferred
  • ServSafe Certified
  • 5 years or more barista and food service management experience, preferred
  • Basic financial and inventory management knowledge
  • Valid Driver’s license, dependable transportation, vehicle insurance, and 5-year clean driving record
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws regarding food preparation and handling.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Creative and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and to work collaboratively with upper management and other stakeholders to identify and facilitate needed improvements to the food service program.

  • Committed to the mission of the coffee shop and able to maintain their working hours as part of the contribution to the coffee shop staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage opening/closing procedures and maintain shop cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Inform supervisor or designee of any issues or feedback, maintenance, repairs, and improvements to Silt Coffee Co equipment or furnishings.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule 1–3 employees.
  • Motivate and coach team members for top performance.
  • Deliver exceptional service and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
  • Monitor stock levels and order supplies efficiently.
  • Control waste and manage costs.
  • Ensures that no one steals products from Silt Coffee Co.
  • Track daily sales, cash handling, and assist with budgeting.
  • Implement strategies to increase revenue.
  • Develop and grow catering services for local businesses and events.
  • Coordinate orders, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support promotions and social media presence.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and local partners.
  • Meets with leadership and effectively communicates the day-to-day operations.
  • Wears Silt Coffee Co uniform, adhering to the dress code policy at all times.
  • Promotes Silt Coffee Co internally and externally in a positive & professional manner.
  • Maintains good working relationships with other team members and contributes to positive work environment.
  • Adheres to the Time and Attendance Policy (tardiness, absences, fobs, makes adjustments to workday appropriately).
  • Adheres to all workplace standards for cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes practices to ensure workplace safety while working in the following environments: office, coffee shop and if applicable; vehicle.
  • Utilizes Silt Coffee Co resources and equipment appropriately and efficiently.
  • Read and follow established recipes for consistency and quality.
  • Ethical Practice Relationship Management Communication Leadership Basic math skills (reconciling finance processes and maintaining inventory)
