About The Position

Operates system that conveys rice product from storage bins to barges. Drafts and moves barge so product can be loaded.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus specialized training and/or additional college courses and two years of related experience and/or training.
• High School diploma or equivalent with1-6 months of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ability to work on water.
• Knowledge of a barge (e.g. different parts and how to load).
• Ability to work in extreme variations of outside temperatures and weather conditions.
• Knowledge of all required paperwork.
• Knowledge of all conveying system as it relates to barge loading.
• Perform light maintenance work and a variety of sanitation duties daily.
• Responsible for complying with all safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices set forth by company.
• Performs daily inspections of equipment, notifies management of need for repairs.
• Recommend and implement process improvements as approved.
• Consult with supervisor as needed.
• Work within a team environment.
• Complete SA logs as required.
• Greet and communicate with visitors and represent the company in a professional manner.
• Ability to work with numbers for draft purposes.
• Be able to communicate with Harbor Service as needed.
• Any other duties related and needed by the company.
• Safety sensitive position.
