In this role, you will provide the guest with a clean and replenished bar and service area. As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. Your professionalism and helpful attitude will set the tone for a positive overall impression of the Kalahari.

Requirements

  • State or Local Law may require a certificate upon completion of an alcohol awareness/safety class as well as state-certified proper food handling certification
  • At least 1 year of front-of-the-house operations is helpful and background in the service industry is a plus
  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills are a must
  • A leadership style rooted in collaboration, respect, and service to others.

Responsibilities

  • Answer questions about food, beverage, restaurant functions, services, and resort services and activities.
  • Key in food and beverage orders using computer system and coordinate timing of meal/beverage service with the kitchen.
  • Maintain bar area; including keeping the bar top/counters and well areas neat and organized, ashtrays emptied and wiped out, dirty cocktail glasses removed and washed; any napkins, coasters, straws or discarded garnishes cleaned up.
  • Perform side work duties; cleaning assigned station and other responsibilities as assigned based on business needs.
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow associates (bartenders, barbacks, servers, bussers, host/hostess, and management) as situations rise.
