Bar Back - Wigle North Shore
About The Position
Wigle Whiskey is Pittsburgh’s award-winning craft distillery, known for producing high-quality spirits and creating welcoming, educational tasting experiences. Our North Shore location combines craft cocktails, hospitality, and local history to deliver a memorable experience for guests visiting before games, events, or nights out. The Bar Back plays a critical role in supporting the bar team and ensuring smooth service. This position focuses on keeping the bar stocked, clean, and organized so bartenders can deliver an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (cases of liquor, kegs, etc.)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and event days (including Steelers/Pirates game days)
Nice To Haves
- Previous bar or restaurant experience is a plus but not required
Responsibilities
- Restock bar supplies including liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and glassware
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar tops, wells, and storage areas
- Wash and polish glassware and bar tools
- Prepare garnishes, juices, and other bar prep items as directed by bartenders
- Remove trash, recycling, and empty bottles as needed throughout service
- Assist with keg changes and stocking coolers
- Ensure the bar is fully stocked before, during, and after service
- Help maintain inventory levels and notify management when supplies are low
- Support bartenders and management with additional tasks as needed
