The Bar Attendant is responsible for completing opening and closing duties, including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, and locking doors. They must check with the captain or supervisor before leaving at the end of a shift. Key tasks include setting up, stocking, and maintaining work areas, stocking ice, glassware, and paper supplies, and removing soiled wares from the bar top and tables. Maintaining the cleanliness and condition of work areas, the bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools, following all set-up guidelines, is essential. The role also requires adherence to all company safety and security policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management, and completing safety training and certifications. Bar Attendants must ensure their uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Guest interaction is a significant part of the role, involving welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing guests’ service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking guests with genuine appreciation. Professional and clear communication, developing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues, and supporting the team to reach common goals are also expected. Ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards is crucial. The position involves physical demands such as reading and visually verifying information, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods or an entire work shift, moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. It also requires grasping, turning, and manipulating objects, moving over various surfaces (sloping, uneven, slippery, stairs, ramps), and reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
