Division: FB Beverage (FBV004) Band 1U Banquets Houseperson Primary Responsibilities: Duties include the set-up/breakdown of all banquet rooms and other function areas, as well as storage of all banquet equipment. Keep the equipment in good condition and ensure that all storage areas and banquet rooms are clean and orderly. Report any damage equipment. Assist in other departments’ porter needs as assigned. Consistently perform tasks as specified on the sequence of service standards and SOPs. Essential Duties: Review all banquet event orders and follow set-up specifications. Transport equipment to/from function area. Set-up and break-down functions for hotel events. Replenish food and beverage for functions, refresh meeting rooms. May pick-up, deliver, or move items for guests. Communicate with guests, manager and other departments regarding any concerns or changes with functions. Keep work and storage area clean and orderly. Properly store equipment and props. Complete work assignments in a timely manner. Consistently perform tasks as specifies on sequence of service standards and SOPs. Ensure proper safety policies and procedures are followed. Perform other related duties as assigned or required. Other Duties: Assist in other departments’ porter needs as assigned. Assist waitstaff with their set-up, servicing guests or replenishing buffets. Report or complete work orders to repair damaged equipment. Attend function meetings. Working Conditions: Normal office conditions. Indoors in banquet function room. Outdoor banquet function venue with various weather conditions. Storage rooms that may be hot, musty and dusty Travel between hotels Work Hours: Able to work shift and days determined Banquet Manager. Able to work over 40 hours per week when needed. Equipment Use: Telephone and radio Able to use various office equipment including but not limited to calculators, photocopiers and facsimile machines. Hand truck to move chairs and other supplies. Utility cart to transport banquet supplies and equipment. Flatbed cart or vehicle to transport tables and other heavy items. Ladders to climb and set-up props. Mental and Physical Demands: Able to prioritize and organize workload to insure deadlines are met. Able to manage stressful and challenging situations. Able to stand, walk, reach and bend during most of shift Able to lift, carry, push, pull up to and over 50 lbs. Communication Demands: Able to communicate verbally and in writing to employees, managers and guests/clients. Able to communicate over the phone/radio. Minimum Qualification Requirements: Able to read event orders Able to do basic arithmetic Department of Health TB clearance.
