About The Position

Position Summary: Setting up tables as assigned, servicing food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guest tables according to hotel standards and group requirements. When specified, taking orders and collecting payments from the guests. Maintain cleanliness of all banquet areas as well as equipment. Knowing and understanding banquet menus as well as beverages specified by the group. Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual base hourly rate for this position starts at $10.00 per hour, with a weighted hourly service charge added based on business levels.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education – High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
  • Minimum Age – 18 years of age due to physical job duties and responsibilities.
  • Minimum Experience – Past serving experience preferred.
  • Certification of alcohol awareness program, training in food, wine & liquor service preferred.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Have positive attitude and is always be willing to assist guests as well as co-workers.
  • Ability to acknowledge and follow directions with minimal supervision.
  • Must work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Good to excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Capable of working consecutive hours without sitting down.
  • Must be able to stand for the entirety of shift, while reaching, bending and stooping.
  • Ability to reach, bend, lift, and carry trays/ovals.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds across medium distance.
  • Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.

  • Servicing food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guest tables according to hotel standards and group requirements
  • Taking orders and collecting payments from the guests (when specified)
  • Maintaining cleanliness of all banquet areas as well as equipment
  • Knowing and understanding banquet menus as well as beverages specified by the group
  • Able to follow directions as well as assigned responsibilities from Banquet Director, Banquet Manager, and the Banquet Captain.
  • Knowledgeable of daily features and activities within the hotel as well as on the island.
  • Work cohesively with the team delivering exceptional service to our guests.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times.
  • Completely knowledgeable and complying with service procedures and policies.
  • Upholds the core values and policies & procedures of the resort.
  • All other duties as assigned.
