About The Position

Provide professional set up; service of any and all food and beverage functions of the Hotel, in and out. To perform all client needs in accordance with established standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma preferred but not mandatory
  • TIPS Training
  • 4-6 months experience in similar service or restaurant service.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate (verbal and written) in English with co-workers, guests, visitors and management.
  • Read and understand English, i.e. Banquet Event orders, Manual of Standards,liquor Requisitions.
  • Shall be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, as well as bend, squat and lift at least 35 lbs. and travel with weight for a minimum of 25-30 yards.
  • Must learn and comply with all Hotel safety rules; must use appropriate safety equipment at all times; must immediately report all unsafe condition to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features or equipment, machinery, or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisor if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.
  • Associates must fulfill the performance standards of this position and comply with policies, rules and procedures of the Hotel, including those set out in the Associate Handbook or otherwise communicated (verbally or in writing) to associates. This job description is intended to describe the general nature and work responsibilities of the position. This job description and the duties of this position are subject to change, modification and addition as deemed necessary by the Hotel. Associates are required to comply with supervisory instructions and perform other job duties, responsibilities and assignments requested by supervisors, managers or other Hotel officials.

Responsibilities

  • Set up standard and complex meal settings with instructions.
  • Set up receptions and theme parties.
  • Carry a tray and walk (with 10 serving plates or 20 dishes and silverware.)
  • Bend and lift trays with equipment on them.
  • Serve a plate while holding 2 or 3 in the other hand.
  • Pour a beverage while holding a bottle or pot in the other hand.
  • Work with your hands.
  • Transport equipment to and from work areas.
  • Handle and set up props, storage and care of same.
