About The Position

The Banquet Manager is responsible for assuring the success of all banquet events, while maintaining a profitable operation and high-quality products and service levels. They are expected to deliver an exceptional event experience, ensure cross departmental communication, train and develop staff, and meet budgeted productivity. Essential Functions: Plan for and execute an exceptional event experience. Schedule accordingly to meet the operational and budgetary requirements of the department. Work closely with all departments to maintain consistency and ensure a organized and efficient event. Stay up to date with the latest Banquet trends and make suggestions to drive revenue. Participate in food and beverage banquet menu creation and ensure the team is trained accordingly. Focuses on guests scores and ensures the feedback is addressed in a timely manner. Assist Food and Beverage Manager and helps oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the hotels Banquet Operations. Monitor attendance and overall performance of the team, coach and council when needed. Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner. Monitor quality of service in banquet events, drive the team to achieve high service standards. Ensure compliance with requisition procedures. Be visible on the floor and assist staff as needed during each meal period. Comply with weekly and monthly forecasting procedures. Be involved in and/or conduct departmental and hotel trainings. Interview candidates for Banquet positions and follow standards for hiring approvals. Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Long hours sometimes required.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests in-person and phone conversation
  • Ability to bend and twist, push, and pull, stoop, and kneel
  • Ascend and descend a ladder
  • Flexible schedule required
  • Must be able to bend, reach and stand for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment with varying temperatures
