About The Position
Wichita Country Club is one of the oldest and most esteemed country clubs in the region, dedicated to offering an exceptional lifestyle experience for our community. We pride ourselves on maintaining top-tier facilities, products, services, and programming for our members. We are seeking a reliable and physically strong Houseman to join our team. In this role, you will be essential in the setup and teardown of event spaces, ensuring that all logistical and physical aspects of events are handled efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to manage heavy lifting and physical tasks. With the busy banquet and holiday season approaching, we are seeking candidates with flexible availability, offering up to 30 hours per week.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role or in a physical labor position preferred.
- Strong ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently, as well as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Team oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and other equipment according to event specifications.
- Help with the teardown and cleanup of event spaces, ensuring that all items are properly stored and the area is left in excellent condition.
- Move and transport furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed for various events, including setting up and breaking down staging, audiovisual equipment, and decor.
- Collaborate with the event team and other staff to ensure all logistical needs are met and that events run smoothly.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage areas, ensuring that equipment and supplies are well-maintained and readily accessible.
- Follow safety protocols and use proper techniques for lifting and moving heavy items to prevent injury and damage.
- Assist with any additional tasks or requests related to event setup and teardown as directed by the Banquet Manager or Event Coordinator.
