About The Position

The Banquet House Attendant is a service-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment. With a keen eye for detail, this role is responsible for ensuring that function rooms are perfectly set up for each event to exceed guest expectations, adhering to Banquet Event Order requirements. The attendant must be adaptable, assisting clients with last-minute changes, and consistently offering professional, engaging, and friendly service according to Raffles standards. This position also involves performing opening and closing procedures, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring the organization and cleanliness of banquet spaces and equipment, all while contributing to overall guest satisfaction and the hotel's cultural appreciation.

Requirements

  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Similar experience at a luxury hotel with available references.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be highly articulate and avoids slang and excessive use of phrase-fragments.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Raffles Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper, clean and well fitted uniforms.
  • Complies with Raffles Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximizes efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Maintains consistent and complete communication amongst team and hotel associates.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.
  • Maintains a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties.
  • Be familiar with fire extinguishers, locations and know how to use them.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure line by line delivery of Banquet Event Order requirements for setup.
  • Follow service essentials at all times.
  • Handle all guest, event planners and manager inquiries knowledgeably and proficiently.
  • Be aware of all business within hotel on a daily basis and able to guide guests accordingly or obtain effective and prompt assistance.
  • Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service according to Raffles standards of service.
  • Set up rooms & function areas in the hotel, sets up tables, chairs, dance floors, staging, linens and assists with tabletop setup as directed.
  • Be presentable at all times and respect the Raffles grooming policies.
  • Maintain standards of hygiene for food handling and presentation.
  • Communicate clients’ requests to the management team in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of banquet spaces and storage.
  • Ensure that all banquet equipment is organized and in good condition.
  • Partner with Banquet Team and AV vendors to ensure seamless delivery and set-up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
