About The Position

This position requires cooking experience in a banquet facility. The banquet cook will assist the Executive Chef and act as primary Chef in the absence of the Executive Chef. Pawleys Plantation is a popular prime golf and banquet event facility under Founders Group International, one of the top golf management companies along the grand strand

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a commercial kitchen is required
  • Serv Safe or ability to pass Serv Safe certification
  • Prior banquet catering experience required
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Evening and weekend availability

Responsibilities

  • Work with Executive Chef to establish the days priorities and assist in preparation
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and food and beverage Director on meal selections
  • Assist with menu development
  • Assist in training and overseeing kitchen staff on how to prepare menu items
  • Uphold plating and portioning standards
  • Assist in planning for event staffing needs
  • Assist in food ordering and maintain kitchen inventory
  • Responsible for proper food preparation and cooking all menu items as assigned
  • Assist in developing schedule for kitchen staff
  • Ensure quality and consistency of menu and catering items
  • Assist in briefing the banquet and kitchen staff daily about upcoming events and functions
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff
  • Assist in taking physical inventory of all food daily
  • Enforce proper SSOP (sanitation standard operating procedures)
